The first practice session is postponed until November 29 The world was not created within one day. Even God had to face some obstacles. Actually, the Saint-Louis Moose experience the same. They first have to check, if the security is ensured in the practice hall at the Rue du Ballon. As a matter of fact, two metallic boxes are fixed at face level on the wall on the long side of the playing field. That could imply injuries during the practice. To avoid shocks, the club direction has arranged some preventive measures and bought some foamed protections to wrap them around the boxes. At the same time, some rink elements made of wood were tinkered to border the zone behind the goals. These elements will be transported together with the goals to Saint-Louis next Saturday. One week later, a group will test during the inaugural practice session on November 29, if the security measures are enough to ensure a safe practicing of floorball. If the result is okay, the club will finally have the possibility to contact schools and universities around Saint-Louis and to begin the player recruitment. We’ll keep you updated here on moosefloorball.net. |

Moose-Goalie: Temporary comeback in the national team After a forfait of several goalkeepers for the November practice camp in Monte Ceneri (Switzerland), Moose goaltender Patrick Droz found itself back on the field among the French national team on Sunday morning for a practice unit and for the friendly game against Ticino Unihockey. The 39-year old goalkeeper, who was actually only as a spectator in Bellinzona to attend the international friendly between France and Italy on Saturday evening and who wasn’t called for the national team since the Turicum Open tournament in May 2008 after the World Championship in Bratislava, for which he was disregarded, showed solid performances. Does he expect other “summons” after this good experience? “The coaches know that they can count on me.”, said the French team-oldie. “But they will only call goalies, which have a real chance to play at the WFC 2010. I’ll be 42 years old then. But it’s never forbidden to dream....”. |

Moose advertising campaign wins first price The municipality of Saint-Louis confirmed the practice time for the Moose. Therefore, the club will be able to make some publicity at schools and universities. Nevertheless, the Saint-Louis Moose already organized an advertising campaign. To introduce a new floorball stick collection called “Louis XIV”, the Swiss floorball distributor unihockeyshop.ch launched a video contest. The Saint-Louis Moose accepted the challenge and presented a movie called “The mask of Louis XIV”. With success. The “artwork” gained the first price and won a wonderful Louis XIV package, an original Louis XIV stick and above all a fantastic advertising effect. The winning movie was presented on the biggest floorball-tv-station www.xfloor.tv and on www.louis-xiv.ch including some information about the Saint-Louis Moose. The movie can be seen on Youtube and of course on Moose-TV. And why not hearing the famous sentence: “And the Oscar goes to.....”? |

The second mask of the Saint Louis Moose A new club but an old tradition. The Moose goalkeeper is well known for changing multiple times his mask design during a season. It was normal at the United Lakers Konstanz so therefore, it’s completely natural in Saint-Louis. Again, the Mask-Magician Alan Pons converted amazingly the design ideas. As an innovation, he didn’t paint over some parts of the basic mask design of the Exel Carbon mask, what made a very special mask-background. It certainly won’t be the last Moose mask of the season.... Pictures of the new mask are shown here. |

Alsace has officially its first floorball club The first official moment of the club history of the Saint Louis Moose took place on Saturday afternoon, August 9, 2008 at the hotel Ibis in Saint Louis on the occasion of the inaugural assembly. By unanimous acceptance of the club statutes, the seven founder members Urs Harter, Alexander Lang, Alain Erba, Reine Droz, Michael Schwarzwälder, Gregoire Caput and Patrick Droz founded officially the "Saint Louis Moose Unihockey Club", which won’t be structured as association but as a section of the Cercle Sportif de Saint Saint-Louis. Indeed with Mister Daniel Fruh (vice-president), Mister Bernard Jacquemin (treasurer) and Mrs. Jacqueline Fruh (president of the track-and-field section) three of members of the board of the Cercle Sportif of Saint Louis participated in the founders' meeting of the Moose. After Mr. Fruh had presented all advantages of an affiliation to the Cercle Sportif, which will celebrate its centenary in three years, the founder members decided unanimously to follow this important trace. Formal agreement should follow on September 11, when the executive committee of the Cercle Sportif next time will held its next meeting. This affiliation will opens the probably most important door for the Moose for beginning the floorball adventures: The door to a sport-hall, respectively to a practice time in order to start the activity. With four sections at the Cercle Sportif - track and field, hand ball, self-defense and gymnastics - this affiliation will offer the Moose the possibility to present floorball to a larger public. Of course, the club also elected its executive committee during this inaugural assembly. Unanimously, the following persons were elected: Reine Droz as treasurer, Michael Schwarzwälder as vice-president and Patrick Droz as president and secretary of the club. After the elections, the president presented the next steps of the club: First it applies to create in Saint Louis a kind of base with a practice time in order to begin the activity. A participation in the 08/09 edition of the French floorball championship is focused. We will know more after 11 September and the first discussions between the Cercle Sportif and its new floorball section. The club executive committee would like to thank cordially the Cercle Sportif for this opportunity, which is so important for the development of the floorball sport in Elsass as well as the founder members for their great availability. See you soon on field! |

The first Saint-Louis Moose mask We have still nearly no players (the search is running), we have still no club executive committee (the first discussions at this Weekend are led) and the club is not structured yet (for lack of executive committee; logically....). But: The club goalie already has a goalie mask with a Saint Louis Moose design. Mask designer Alan Pons again made a fantastic art work and created a genuine jewel. The first presentation of the mask will take place on this weekend during the Turicum open with the French national team. Pictures of the mask can be seen here. |
